As I have stated time and time again. I am not a big fan of Sports Talk Radio, ESPN, Sports Talk Television and yes, sports blogs. I did, however love the show Sports Night - which aired on ABC for two seasons. After just two short seasons, Sports Night won several awards, including two Emmy’s (believe it or not). This show often poked fun at the profession, which I truly thought was way ahead of it's time.

Most certainly a satire of the enigma, Sports Center, on ESPN, Sports Night just never had the right audience or demographic on ABC for the show to really take off with the general species.

I have often thought to myself, why Sportscasters wear suits? I know, it fits the television medium and sharpens the look of the total package.

Sports Night always made the viewers aware that they were just talking about Sports and not to take yourself seriously if you are in a heated conversation with someone regarding your team or player. Folks like JT The Brick, Colin Cowherd and other minions make a living off of riling up the masses with outrageous comments about teams, situations and players lives.

On Sports Night, we the audience saw the show as it is being produced, and we saw the behind the scenes plots which were often at Athletes and the sports culture's expense. The comedy was often witty, at times, dark enough to bring a pinch of sarcasm to the viewers. The reason I only watch the sports, is because all sports media generally has a bias or slant to pull in viewer or readers.

For instance, I have never understood this -

You watch an entire football game from beginning to end. Then, the network devotes an entire show, breaking down what you just saw. Why do we need this? We just saw it and if you didn't, whoops, your bad. Frankly, it's insulting watching people break down statistics like it's mechanical energy or bio-physics.

I generally like to take things from a simple approach. I don't like getting fired up over sports, which are games kids play.

So, why do Sportscasters where suits then?
